I had a Mirena IUD inserted July 25, 2008. I went online last night to see if any woman were complaining about the string scratching their partner. To my amazement what I found was 'hair loss' but I did not think my hair falling out in the last month was related to the Mirena IUD, now I know. My hair has thin and has come out in groves but I thought perhaps maybe it was just shedding. I called Mirena to file a complaint and also reported to FDA website. A rep at Mirena told me that hair loss is one of the symptoms it causes Alopecia. Well I call my doctor this morning to have remove immediately. I had a head full of long beautiful hair. I also ask the rep once the Mirena IUD has been removed will my hair problems go away she said she did not know. People to not call in once they remove it. Amazing!!!!!!!
