Wow! I've had the Mirena IUD for about 4-12 years and I never knew all of these side effects until reading these complaints. I seriously thought I was just starting to lose my mind. I've had horribe mood swings, depression, anxiety, palpitations, nausea, terrible headaches and migraines, thinning hair, some acne (not really bad but bad for me since I've never had problems with acne in my life), severe abdominal cramping, ovarian cysts, and extremely low sex drive. I thought there was something wrong with my marriage because of the lack of sex drive. The only thing I haven't had is severe bleeding or weight gain. I've actually not had my period for the last 4 years and thought that was wonderful, but I really had no idea that the Mirena IUD could be causing all of these other symptoms. I'd much rather have my monthly period than all of these symptoms. I have an appointment in September with my OBGYN and I'm definitely getting it removed. I hope that my life can return to normal after getting it removed.
