In May we gave Enterprise Car Leasing authorization to debit our account with Bank of America for any fees we incurred, after insurance payment, on a 10-day car rental.
The fees were to be based on a contract calling for a vehicle rental fee of 14.55 per day, 12.99 per day damage insurance, personal accident insurance at 3.0 per day plus taxes and fees.
Farmers Insurance paid a flat 250.00 toward this 10-day rental -- 25.00 per day.
Enterprise debited our bank account twice for a total of 125.00.
Based on the rental contract we owed a total of 366.21, or, after deducting Farmers payment, 116.21.
I was expecting a refund from Enterprise in the amount of 8.79.
Instead Enterprise they deducted another 57.96 from my bank account.
When I protested to BOA, Enterprise furnished them a copy of the billing summary.
The car rental was billed at 20.55 per day, not 14.55 as the contract calls for,and our total indebtedness was 182.96, hence the additional deduction of 57.96.
I furnished BOA a copy of our signed contract, pointing ot the two different rental rates, and told them unless Enterprise furnished something showing our written or initialed approval of the higher rate, I wanted the 57.96 returned to my account.
Despite the fact Enterprise could furnish no authorization for charging me a higher rental fee, BOA upheld the transaction.
A BOA representative said Enterprise assured them the billing was correct so they were approving the transactioin.
