I have been harrassed by a woman calling herself Mrs. Clarke, Mrs. Garcia, etc. same person, for an alleged debt I owe to Paycheck Today an internet based payday loan company. I received a letter from ACA Recovery in the body of the letter it states Norman G. Kalina of counsel, this was back in April 2008. She called me on 5208 asking what I was going to do about this, she didn't even give me the 30 days to respond to the letter and I told her an attorney would get a hold of them and I told her not to call me at work. She calls my work again at the end of 508 and when I answer I realize it is her and I hang up. She leaves 2 messages, first one she states she is from the law offices of Norman G Kalina-she states that since I do not want to take care of my debt that she will contact DMV and get my drivers license suspended and that she is handing my file over to their attorney to start litigation and I better call by 5:00pm. She leaves another one on 61308 and states that she is from the law office again, but remember the phone number they leave is for ACA Recovery and she states that I need to contact her to make arrangements and that if I did not call back by 5:00pm they would start litigation on 620 on me. Then I get home yesterday on 62008 and I have another letter in the mail from Norman G. Kalina, ESQ. not ACA Recovery this time, same formatted letter just no words of ACA Recovery. The letter states that I need to contact them and make payment arrangements, that their client loaned me 805.00 and I need to pay it. It was not 805 it was 500 and I had way overpaid this company and they actually owe me a refund. Where did they get the extra 5.00, weird. Anyway, I have an appointment with an attorney next week to give him my recorded voicemails they left me threatening to get my license suspended and that they keep threatening to start litigation on me for now 2 months. Also representing themselves as a law office not ACA Recovery. The other thing is their client Paycheck Today broke the laws of NJ by charging interest rates over 700 if not more and if you go to their website it states they do not give loans to about 5 states and NJ is one of them. I didn't realize really how bad I got myself into until it was too late. I will update everyone after I see the lawyer.
