I too received a telephone call from Mr. Frank Jackson representing Norman Kalina, Esq. Mr. Jackson stated a letter was sent to me several weeks ago stating I owed a balance of 490 on an outstanding payday loan for which I stated I never received such letter. I advised that I made a stop payment on a PDL for which I never signed a 'ACH' debit authorization on such bank account and suggested he go back to his client to verify such information. Mr. Jackson advised me he did not have to do that and that I was irresponsible and I owe the debt. I asked Mr. Jackson if he was familiar with California Law and unless I signed the 'ACH' debit authorization I had the right to revoke it even then. I advised Mr. Jackson I would send him a request for validation of the debt for which he gave me the following address:
Norman Kalina, Esq.
38 E.Ridgewood Ave., Ste. 395
Ridgewood, NJ 07450
Mr. Jackson further stated I needed to send the money within 2 weeks or they would take further action and it could get ugly for me. I advised Mr. Jackson I was not worried about that but I would not be paying him 490 and the orignal debt and the original debt was 365.00.
I then conducted some research and found out Norman Kalina does not represent ACA Collection Agency and called Mr. Jackson back and asked him if he was with ACA Collection Agency for which he stated 'I don't know what you are talking about'. I then advised Mr. Jackson that Norman Kalina does not represent ACA Collection for which he still claimed he didn't know what I was talking about and advised me to have a nice day for which I advised him as well.
I further advised Mr. Jackson not to call me anymore for which he said he would not but I would need to contact him.
ACA is misrepresenting themselves - isn't this fraud?
