I had a return check for Rte Aid. They did not notify me but re-submitted the check via electronic to my bank which cleared my bank on May 8th. I saw it went through and because I didn't get a letter asking for a check return fee, I thought the matter was settled. Rite-Aid was paid and I paid my bank for the fee they charged for the return check. Next, on May 18th I am not allowed to cash a check at my local Safeway store. I then found out Rite-aid tuned me in to SCAN 10 days after the check was paid. May 20th CRA sent a copy of a unauthorized check from my checking account, claiming it was a legal copy and tried to get it to go through. I have not been able to contact CRA but left a message asking them to contact me.
My bank returned that check because I didn't have the funds to cover this UNAUTHORIZED check. They than charged me overdraft change of 33.00. I contacted the bank and explained to them I didn't authorize that check so they reversed the overdraft charge but said they couldn't stop CRA from resending it again.
I think this is a check return charge from Rite-aid...not even sure but how can CRA take money right out of my personal checking account and without a legal notice????
