My husband and I have leased Honda vehicles since 1996. In February 2001, we leased a Honda CR-V for 302 a month. In August 2002, we filed for a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy but our attorney did not include the lease in the case because we were able to handle both payments. In September 2006, we completed our bankruptcy case. In February 2007, our lease was up on the CR-V and we purchased the CR-V with financing through American General Finance. Honda is now reporting to the credit agencies that they were included in the Chapter 13 Bankruptcy and this will not be removed from my credit report until 122013.
I tried to talk to a financial advisor ( Tom Cote) about this and he was very disagreeable about the whole thing. When I explained to him that this same account was showing up on my husband's report as an account in good standing he said it should not be and he was going to change it.
My husband and I worked very hard to pay off our debts, our lease and our rent and utilities. Now Honda Financing is destroying our credit reports and refuse to remove the information.
Please help me.
Sincerely, Susan Dunbar
