I am a frequest shopper at the stores located Downtown Manhattan and decided to check out their store location in the Bronx on E Fordham Rd. accompanied by my sister. To my surprise the service rendered was very poor! the employees were not very customer oriented, rude and no one was available to answer question and assist with the search for merchandise. I also found very ackward the items presented for sale which in no way were as diversed as the items available at their stores located in Manhattan ie, 96th, 34th nor W4th Street branches. We made some purchases and in the hunt through stores misplaced the receipt. We needed to exchange a pair of sandals we had purchased for the baby. My sister insisted of the need for the receipt and I told her it was not necessary; i exchange items at their stores in Manhattan and have no problem inconvenience a receipt frequestly is required when a refund is requested otherwise we purchased the item a day before and it should be no problem 'Gap Inc' is Gap Inc... upon my sister's anguish of not finding the receipt I called the store and the person whom answered the telephone was very rude and informed of their store policy of no exchange without receipt, refused to provide a name and hung up the phone. I couldn't believe it and decided to confirm with the rest of the branches I frequent... to my amaze, the other stores were willing to exchange the item with out a receipt --- no questions asked! I am very upset about how the Gap Inc selects the location and areas of their stores to enforce their store policies.
