Recently Toys R Us Stores announced they had completed a exhaustive strategic study of their business, and made a decision to close just over 70 of their locations. In some cases, Directors, Managers, and Associates were offered the option to transfer to an alternative location; however, in some locations the company denied transfers based upon certain criteria, and these same positions were not allowed or granted a transfer, rather, they were offered a severance package because their performance did not warrant a transfer.
If you wereare a member of SALARY management, and your store has been recently effected by the company decision no longer to operate in your location, were you offered or denied the request to transfer? If you were denied this opportunity, what was the reason the company gave you for their reasoning?
Did you PERFORMANCE illustrate differently that what the company claimed? Had you previously received an ACCEPTABLE EVALUATION? Did you recently receive a BONUS for MEETING andor EXCEEDING STANDARDS? Did you GUEST DELIGHT scores provide FACTS from the guest they enjoyed their experience.
There are several associates who have held the above mentioned titles, exhibited POSITIVE behaviors and performance, however, they have been dismissed under the STORE CLOSURE guidelines and are being offered severance to give up your rights.
If you have experienced these types of behaviors, and were denied the right to transfer to an alternate location, please reply to this posting. Keep the FAITH we were a TEAM.
