2 months ago, I came into a verbal with Diversified Collection Services. The agreement was for me to enter a Student Loan Rehabilitation process that required that I make 9 voluntary full payments on the 28th of each month for 9 consecutive months. After that, a new repayment schedule would be established by U.S Dpet. of Education after rehabilitation. They also told me that all 3 major credit bureaus would be notified to delete any adverse credit rating currently being reported by the guaranty agency in relation to the default. i was also told that over 7,000 in loan collection fees wouldl be subtracted from the total amount due.
I was told that after my first payment was debited from my account on the 28th the U.S Department of Edu would be sending me a contract of the agreement by Julie Carr, the DCS rep. Instead, I received a note that stated I agreed to pay for 12 months and there was no other further info about the program. My collections fees was not adjusted in anyway also. I sent Julie Carr a certifed letter listing the complaints that I had about the change in the many of months I agreed to and my total balance due. She in return send me a letter just notifying me that
my bank account will be debited every month.
This is company is extremely untrustworty and is not to be trusted. My mother is now going to pay for a lawyer to fight this company. My account was passed around that company from rep to rep and every rep had a different lie. It is extremely sad when you can't trust the people the our government send our loans too for collections. If you also had a problem with this company email me at feastere2002@yahoo.com
