DirecTv Commits Fraud During Service Cancellation

Report Fraud
DirecTv

After cancelling my Direct TV That I had for over a year (15 months to be exact) They told me I had to pay a cancellation fee. When I signed up for the service I did it thru Verizon which was unning a special and I distinctly remembered that they told me i had to sign a contract for a year of service. I did and my 12 months were over by three months. When I asked them to send me the final bill they said no problem and I wasn't due to pay them until that next months came in, but I wanted a final bill so I wouldn't be owing them any money. Well a few days later I noticed while checking my bank account Direct TV had debited the money out of my account thus causing several checks to bounce and fees to occur, I called them up and they stated that it was in my contract to go into my checking account for the remainder of the balance and that was before I even received the final bill. Then they struct again. They sent out the return boxes for their receivers and and only sent out three of them when they should have sent out four. I sent the three back and within 3 days after I sent the receivers back they debited my checking account again for 374.50. Now I'm pissed again and I called them up and they told me that I didn't send back the HD Receiver box and I told them you never sent out the box for the return. They gave their scripted apologie and said that the funds were to be deposited abck into my account in 72 hours. They sent me out another box the next day for the HD Receiver and I sent it off the next day. Well need less to say 72 hours had came and gone and they received the HD Receiver ( I checked thru Fed Ex with the tracking number) but they still haven't deposited the funds back into my my checking account for the 374.50. I called again and they looked into it and told me that they were going to expedite the transfer for the money they debited in 48 hours and the lady even told me that it probably be in therebefore the 48 hrs passed. Well again 48 hrs have came and gone and when I called up again this time they told me that it was going to take 4 days this time...(AHHHHHHHHHHH...enough) and after they politely told me that there's nothing they could do right now they had a nerve to ask me 'Is there anything else we could assist you with today'. Were going to write a formal complaint to Direct TV and also the Better Business Bureau. Probably nothing will come out of this and hopefully I'll get my money back some day, but beware to all who's looking to sign up with Direct TV that their customer service policies are no good and I highly recommend going either back to cable or sign up with Verizon FIOS service.
