I am a single mother who is drawing disability and owe alot of doctor bills. I got a letter from FCS concerning a bill that had been turned over to them. I thought I was being responsible by calling them THE DAY I GOT THE BILL to set up payment arrangments. The woman on the phone told me that 25 a month would be fine. I sent that amount for 3 months. I continued getting calls from them. I went to the post office one day and had a letter saying that it had been turned over to a law firm. I called FCS and told the woman that I had been keeping up my end of the deal. She VERY RUDELY informed me that 25 a month wasn't enough. (the total of the bills was a little over 2000.00) She told me I had to bring a certain amount to the office that day or they would sue me. I told her I had no vehicle to get to her office and even if I did I had no money to bring her. She then began questioning me about my monthly income. When I told her I didn't think that was any of her business, she said it most certainly was. When I refused to tell her she started telling me that if I didn't own a vehicle how was I getting to and from dr. appointments, etc. I finally told her that I was paying the amount FCS had agreed to and she told me that they would not accept that amount any longer. I told her I was going to make a payment that day but she said they wouldn't accept it so there was no sense in me sending it. Now, when I answer my phone there is a recording telling me their attorney's phone number and that I need to contact them.
