was employeed with a private sub contracting company called The Cable Guys. My job was to go door to door to offer cableinternetphone services to people who did not currently have these services. My employers provided me with a list of names and addresses of previous customes who did not have cable service, so I would know who to offer these services to. I was working with my manager at the time, we rode together, and he is also one of the owners, I had been with them at this time for 10 months and was one of the top salesmen. The incident that I am currently writing about occured in Peru, Indiana. Me and my boss went to Peru, and the day started out like any other day. I worked one side of the street going door to door, while he was on the other side. I approaced a residence, and spoke with 3 men, and offered them cable services, They told me that they had cable, I explained to them that my paperwork showed that there was not service on at this address. Then one of the men told me to hold on because the lady that had the service in her name was on her way to the residence, although my paperwork showed that this lady's name matched the address and the cable had been disconnected. So I waited for her, she came and became irrate and screaming at me, yelling 'Nigger get off of my property!' At that time I walked off of her property while calling my boss on my cell phone to tell him what was going on and that the cable at this residence was on illegally, he did come to the residence and asked me to wait in the car because the men were threatening to 'jump me', and was threatening bodily harm to me. I went to the car quietly, and did not respond to the threats being made to me. My boss then came to the car a few minutes later and said, 'we will just forget it and leave the service on, and let the company (COMCAST) catch them.' That was the end of the incident, nothing else was ever said about it to me, until about a month later. Me and my boss was on our way to work at another town, (this is about a month after the above incident occurred). My boss received a phone call on his cell phone from another boss of the company, stating that we needed to turn around and not work, until the issue stated above was resolved, although we were not ever told of anything issues that came about. My boss was on the phone asking what 'issues' the boss was talking about, He told the other boss that he witnessed the entire incident that happened with me being threatened, and I did not do anything wrong, I was professional, and did not respond to any of the negative comments made to me by the people at the residence. I was told that I was not allowed to work for COMCAST anymore because these people who called me a nigger and threatened my life called in to COMCAST and told them that on the day of them threatening me, that I pulled a knife on them!!!!! Nobody from COMCAST spoke with me to hear anything that I had to say, they did not want to hear my side of the story, and my bosses told me NOT TO EVER CONTACT COMCAST OVER THIS ACCUSATION AGAINST ME BECAUSE THEY WERE AFRAID OF LOSING THEIR CONTRACT WITH COMCAST!!! However, I was told that if I do what they say, and not contact COMCAST, I could continue working for them!!! Which I had to do because I have a family to support, so I had to overlook the racism that was against me. So then, my company (The Cabe Guys), sent me to work for MEDIACOM in Moline, Illinois, which is a 6 hour drive for me. I had to take it, for the reason stated above, I have a family to support. I had never had any complaints made against me, I was always told what a good job I was doing and I was a great salesmen, who always met and usually went over my sales quota. It is obvious that my bosses knew that I did not pull a knife or even make a comment back to these people threatening my life, because if I did do anything of the sort, I would not have continued to have a job with them, I just recently quit with them in January of 2008. Also, if I had actually pulled a knife on these people (which is not my character at all!!), why did they not call the police? Why did they not tell my boss when he was there? Why did they wait almost a month to even make up the story? They were mad because they were caught stealing cable, and they were very racist, and they wanted to get back at me because I was the one who caught them, which is part of my job. I was just doing my job, and it is sad that none of my bosses, even the one that witnessed the incident would fight a little harder with COMCAST, they were so scared of losing their contract, that they just let it go, which forced me to have to drive 1200 miles a week just to be able to support my family. I done this for 16 weeks faithfully!!! Then they took my salary away from me without notice, not because of job performance, but because they claimed they could not afford to pay me my salary anymore, and I had to work on commission only!!!!! I tried that for one week, and it costed me more to get to work and stay in a hotel, then I even made!!!! COMCAST WILL PAY FOR THE RACISM, DISCRIMINATION, LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM, AND THE DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER AGAINST ME BECAUSE I WONT STOP CONTACTING ATTORNEYS UNTIL THEY DO!! THE SUB CONTRATORS ARE ALSO LIABLE IN THIS CASE AS WELL, AND I INTEND TO FILE SUIT AGAINST THEM AS WELL. COMCAST IS NOT THE COMPANY THEY CLAIM TO BE!!
