Tribute Mastercard has been charging me for the past 2 years for an account that I asked them to cancel. I got the card from a mail advertisement. It stated that I would have a 300 dollar credit limit and would have to pay a fee to activated the card. I paid the fee and had the card activated and then I was told that I would only would be able to charge 121.00 and the rest would be taken for payment of more fees. When I got ready to charge, the balance on the card was only 110 dollars. The next month I received the statement and the charges were unbelievalble. They said that I was over the limit and they charged me late fees, periodic finance charges, overlimit fee, account maintenance fee. The total amount of charges for what I charged was billed for 194.75 and cash advance was 12.25. I have asked the person that calls several times to discontinue my account so that it would not keep building up these excessive charges, but to no avail. Now the company is saying that I owe them 1054.50 even though I have made several payments to them. I cannot pay this excessive charge nor will I keep being subjected to the phone calls and the bill is continuing to rise. Please someone help.
