My sister was found not at fault in an accident caused by the negligence of a police officer, who made a remark when he looked up from, whatever he was doing, his car right before he ran the red light and hit my vehicle. My sister saw him coming and couldn't believe he was still coming towards her. Though my Durango looked ok on the outside I had it towed for repair and it was assessed at totalled. His vehicle was damaged to the point that the whole front end was in the windshield proving that he was speeding on impact. I called the City of Fort Worth, and was told by their representative that they will NOT pay on a vehicle twice but they never paid the insurance company in the first place - they refused to pay because of the report the police officer turned in instead. He never bothered to speak with my sister to see if she was alright and put a false witness on his report which when investigated and questioned by the insurance company they couldn't use her because she admitted that she was not able to see the accident just coming off the freeway. The problem is two fold because as loyal customers of Allstate for six years, all we're due is a measly 500.00 deductible that we must now wait 2 - 3 years to obtain because the City of Fort Worth is not a 'member' of the arbitration group?? I wrote a letter to the Mayor's office with copies of the report from the insurance company, just to say I just want another vehicle maybe from their pound and he replied that there was nothing he could do 'it's wasn't his area'. Now I see where they got the saying 'you can't fight city hall'. Their refusal to listen to citizens is appalling and should not be tolerated. My vehicle would have been paid off in 2007 when this occurred. Both sides have inconvienced and strained my family economically big time. Now we have one vehicle stretched between 6 people going in different directions. I want justice served! Some one has to take responsiblility for this accident and it's not us.
