I had written a check to Toys R Us for 500 which it bounced in the summer. It was a mistake because I thought the money was in my account. On Saturday I received a letter from Norman G. Kalina, Esq stating that I owed 700 and that I did not respond to previous letters regarding the account. Also, the company is threatening to file a lawsuit if payment is not received in 10 days. This is the first time I received a letter under the name of Norman Kalina. After researching the above name, it also appears under the name ADA which is a collections company. The letter has Norman G. Kalina letterhead and at the bottom of the page it displays: “We are debt collectors.” This is misrepresentation and will not send payment to Norman G. Kalina or ADA collections. I want to know my rights regarding the situation. I do not dispute the debt but how it is being collected. I rather settle my debt with the creditor then these liars. Also, a woman left me a message about a month ago for myself or my attorney to contact her. She did not say the name of the company that she represented.
