In 2004, I joined Ladies Total Fitness. I paid the monthly fee for several months then paid the balance of the 3 year contract just to get it out of the way. I paid with a credit card. Ithen moved out of state in 2005. I moved to an area that I was told had gyms that I would be able to use my membership.I could not get to these facilities due to a heavy school schedule( nursing scholl) and family obligations. I realized that I was basically wasting my money and came to terms with that fact.Lesson learned,right? Wrong!
Last week, I recieved a phone call from NATIONAL FITNESS FINANCIAL, stating that my contract had automatically renewed in September and that i pwed them money. i explained to four people, Dennis. Grant, Blake and some woman who would not give me her name, that I was not interested, I had not recieved notice or an option to renew. They said too bad. I had signed the contract in 2004 and I had no choice. If I do not payy, It will be on my credit report as a bad debt!!! I then asked them for the address of their coroporate headquarters and they refused to give it to me .They gave me a post office box number and said that I could complain all I wanted and the only outcome iis that the would still get their money.They were rude, and very unprofessional.They did not even give me an option to cancle the contract. they basically said it was a lifetime deal, and that I should have known this when I signed the contract.I need someone to help me find a way to stop this practice.
