Bought a Sony 50 inch television.February 2006. Bought a 400.00 sevice warranty.Called Best Buy and was told to call customer care, and that service would be scheduled in 24 to 48 hours. When I called customer care, I was told, our systems are up dating. Called back on the next day, only to be told the same thing. I called back every day, only to be told, they would call me back. Finally after 6 days, I called angry and told them my husband was going to take t.v. to local store, for our money back. Again, they said they would call me right back. They did, and gave me a number to TE electronics, who I called to schedule an appt. The repairman came out the following day. I was told I had a lamp light out, and he did not have one with him. He also said it might have a ballast out. I don't think he really knew. The television had no picture or sound. He left, letting me know that it could take 2 days to 1 week to order the part if it wasn't in stock. I was still angry, and called Best Buy back and let them know what he had said, including he was going to send a report the following morning, so they could approve for them to order the parts. I spoke with a store manager, who was very nice. She called me back to let me know a man from the corporate office would be calling me back, that day. Of course that never happened. I spoke with her 2 days later to let her know, I never got the phone call. The day after the repairman left, he called to let me know, his boss wanted the t.v. to be brought in to be worked on. Stated he would pick it up when the parts came in, which really made no sense, do to him already being here, and not taking it. I called the TE electronics today to see when they might fix my television, and they told me they are still waiting on an approval from Best Buy. I called the Best Buy corporate office, and they are supposed to call me back. But, I am really not counting on that to happen, because that was over 3 hours ago. This all started Friday 101207 in the afernoon. It is now 10 days later, and I am no closer to having my television fixed.
