Delia's charged my credit card more than the authorized amount for my on-line order. The order total in the check-out was 0. The email confirmation for my order confirmed the same. Just a few hours later I had emailed them that I wanted to cancel my order. A few days later I received a shipping notice that my credit card had been charged 6.35. After attempting to resolve this through costumer service they refuse to acknowledge that it is not an acceptable practice to charge someon's credit card without their permission simply because they have the number. This is a most dishonest practice.
Also, please note that no item ever came. I was charged, but never received anything. Through customer service emails and phones calls, and even after a BBB filing, they refuse to ship the item or refund my credit card. They claim that their system was not working correctly and should not have let me use a their coupon. If their system was not working correctly or the transaction was due to any error, the ethical practice would be to cancel the order. However, they cannot just charge someone whatever they decide the transaction is worth, only to later say that a coupon code wasn't working correctly.
