My son's car was in an accident with American Family Insurance's (AmFam) client. The police report clearly stated that she was totally at fault they issued her a citation. Eye witness's written corroboration is available. AmFam refuses to pay more than 80 of the replacement cost of my son's car, which was totaled. In addition, before even doing that, they deduct significant amounts unethically. E.g. they refuse to pay storage for the wreck beyond 4 days even then not at the rate charged. More significantly, they overvalued the wreck and deduct this from what they'll pay 80 of. They also refuse to take responsibility for the wreckage expect us to sell it at a price that we cannot get a bid to match. They value it at 785, while we got 2 no bids one bid for 500. Towing costs to an auction house may also be significant. Hence, when all is said done, their offer is closer to 60 of the cost for us to be made whole for the accident. They completely refuse to negotiate. I called the local TV station, who called them without stating that it was regarding this case in specific and AmFam told them that they are not responsible to pay 100 of claims that 80 is typical of what they pay. I have talked to others who have had like experiences see others on your web site with like experiences. We presently are interested in legal representation to bring a class action suit against them. I can bring others to testify to like experiences from both an insured's standpoint and from a contractor's standpoint, so I am certain this is their policy not peculiar to our circumstances.

I note in reviewing what I wrote that all special characters were not shown. Where I use 80 and 60 that was a percentage. The percent sign did not show up. Dollar signs likewise did not show up. Likewise the figure 100 was intended to be followed by a percent sign.
