Risperdal causes heart injuries

Report Fraud
Janssen.com

My son, Christopher is non-verbal and autistic. He began taking Risperdal in May 1998 and within two months he developed heart problems. He was prescribed Risperdal (3mg twice a day) in May 1998 and in July 1998 he placed my hand over his heart and I noticed that his heart was pumping really fast and the rhythm was abnormal. I carried him the next day to a cardiologist who assure me that he would be fine. Then, in Sept. 1999 he woke up sweating and his heart was racing. I called an ambulance and carried him to Grady Hospital in Atlanta. We lived in Acworth, Ga at the time. He was given an x-ray, EKG, and blood work. I was told that he had a hole in his heart with arrthymia. Devistated, I carried him two days later to Morehouse Medical to another cardiologists and I was told that Chris had a murmur, but the doctor asked me if Chris had ever had a heart attack. I said no, but I was confused and uneasy, so I carried him to yet another cardiologist at St. Joseph Hospital in Atlanta. I was told that Chris had a leaking valve.

Chris had never had heart problems before he took Risperdal. He is now on 1 mg of Risperdal once a day to be weaned off of this dangerous drug. He has high cholesterol and high blood pressure with still abnomal heart beats.

All of the Class Action Risperdal Attorneys are focusing on diabetes, but Risperdal biggest issue, is heart related injuries. I'm afraid that before Chris is will get justice for his injuries, the medical records will no longer be available. I have a great deal of them and I will be attempting to get the others soon.

I am looking for justice and I will never give up. I need a Risperdal Class Action Attorney who is focusing on Risperdal heart-related injuries.

Additional Information: Please read e-mail from FDA addressed to me concerning heart issues relating to the use of Risperdal.

Dear Patricia,

Thank you for writing the Division of Drug Information, in the FDA's
Center for Drug Evaluation and Research.

Since Risperdal is not a FDA approved indication for ADHD, it is not
included in this list. The cardiovascular risks for Risperdal is
already known, and has already been published in 2003:
http:www.fda.govmedwatchSAFETY2003risperdal.htm

The FDA added a black box warning to the drug labeling already:
http:www.fda.govcderfoilabel2006021444s008s015,020588s024s028s029
,020272s036s041lbl.pdf
This was done to make prescribers aware of this risk, and to prevent it
from occuring.

Best regards,

Comments: I read the news release regarding the new labels
concerning ADHD approved drugs and the risk of cardiavascular problems
and I was surprised that Risperdal was not on that list. Although,
Risperdal is has not been approved for treating ADHD, it has long been
prescribed by doctors for this condition and for autism before it was
officially approved by the FDA last year. My question is: When will
the FDA finally tell the truth about the renown cardiavascular affects
of Risperdal? Are there any studies currently being done about it's
cardiavascular effects?

Chris has had about four EKG's and 3 ECHO's, which verifies his injuries. I think my son deserves to be compensated. I have most of the medical records, (can get the others), doctor names, addresses, and phone numbers. If any one has any information that can help us get justice, please e-mail me at: wattleyp@bellsouth. net. Also, you can reply to this complaint at lawcash.com. Thanks.
