i accidently mailed my mortgage check in my student loan envelope and when i found out a month later by looking at my student loan statement and my mortgage company telling my payment wasn't received i found out the student loan people cashed my check that was made out to somebody else and it had another account number on it and applied it to my student loan. When i asked them why they had no clear answer or justification of why they fraudently cashed that check.It's theft and fraud. This wsa in september 2006 it is now feb. 2007 and i am still waiting on my money back. I should have gotten my money back return mail,and in this case immediately after they found out they stole my money. I have suffered severe stress and credit problems because my mortgage has been behind a month ever since and the late fees have made the missing payment double,and because i don't have the money that was 'misplaced' i am heading into foreclosure.
