I have been a chase credit card holder for years... After 2 years straight of hurricanes in Florida (my job on boats is affected by weather ) Chase decided to raise my rates to 29.99 !!!! Please understand that even though my work was hindered, I still made all payments on time, always.... But it seems that Chase felt justified in raising my rates, because they checked my credit report and saw that I had high balances on my cards. (Mind you, I was trying to take care of myself and son through a very difficult time) If it weren't for my credit cards, I don't know how we would have made it. I never paid any of my credit cards late, and certainly not Chase. When I called, I explained everything to them, and I just asked, Why would you raise my rates for no reason? I was sharply told after being put on hold for a few seconds 'No, ma'am, we're sure your being charged the correct rate.' I was mortified. I have been paying them their insane interest for 11 months now, and finally this month, I didn't have my 200 dollars of straight interest for them. I sent 100, and now I have a 39. late fee! go figure- JERKS. All my other credit cards were so wonderful during both years of credit cards, offering to skip payments, lower my rates etc... (especially Citibank Chevron- I love you guys) But not Chase- That company should be ashamed of themselves, it's practices are disgusting and it's compassion for the average person is obsolete. May the fleas of 1000 dogs be in your bed tonight, and crawl into unspeakable places- I've determined that's the proper fine for you :)
