My credit card account was given to NES to collect on because of my being deliquent on payments. We called and asked if we could settle the account for a specific amount because that was the most we could borrow. The rep said he needed to get approval from his manager and call me back. He called back saying he got the approval. I asked if I'd get a letter stating the account is settle and closed. He said yes, as soon as the funds are received a letter would be automatically generated and closed. 30 days later I receive a call from them (a different rep though) saying I still owe another 1900. I said I was told the account would be settled for the amount I paid 30 days ago. He tells me that amount was never approved by the credit card company and I needed to pay the remaining difference for the amount the credit card approved to settle on or the amount would increase next month. The rep I spoke to 30 days prior NEVER disclosed the fact that even though his manager approved, it needed to get the approval of the credit card company and that I still had a balance to pay. He lied to me saying my account would be closed when he knew I would still need to pay another 1900 to settle and close the account. How convienent for them the phone recordings are deleted after 15 days so I have no proof that I was never told the real facts.
