I purchsed a john deere lawn tractor from the home depot store.
The tractor was popping and smoking when it was in use from the beginning of use, (day 1).
I took the lawn tractor back to home depot and they informed me that they didn't take back john deere products and that they (home depot) would send it to MS engine for repair.
I didn't send it for repair that day, but it got so offensive and nonproducive that I took it back for repair and paid a 35.00 fee.
I waited and finally got it back, performing the same, popping and smoking.
It became worse and I took it Back AGAIN! I didn't hear from them after three months or more and called the store, they couldn't find it.
The store Asst mgr. finally called back and stated that they had found it and that it was somewhere that it wasn't supposed to be.
It was delivered back to me this time, with the blades sharpened as a token; however, the blades were not sharpened and it didn't cut well. The grass had to be cut more than once to look decent.
The mower still popped and smoked.
I had it taken back again something had come aloose, this time it smoked and popped much worse and drove at a very slow speed even when placed in 5th gear.
I took it back again, and brought it back with the same problems; I took it back with the same problems getting more severe. I have called john deere on several times and spoken with several different personnel and informed them that I didn't want money back; only a replacement properly functioning equipment. However I have been rudely and nastily told that john deere will not replace my equipment, nor refund my money, which is well over 2000.00.
I have been strung down primrose path, in which john deere stalled so that my warranty would run out.
PLEASE HELP!
