I purchased a used 1999 Isuzu Rodeo LS and noticed at 85,000 miles that I was going through more oil than normal. I had my oil changes done every 3000-5000 miles and on a few occasions asked if I had an oil leak. I was told there was no leak. Still I was adding oil frequently and finally started to notice spatter on the hatch back door of the vehicle. Researching this problem I stumbled upon several websites that adress the very same oil burning problems my Rodeo has. Here is the link to just ONE of the many complaint sites I found http:www.carsurvey.orgviewcomments_review_51743.html - there is 47 pages of oil consumption issues and consumer complaints on this vehicle... Isuzu Customer Service did not seem to want to acknowledge anything other than my car is not under warranty - yes I gathered that..but when on to state that a quart of oil every thousand miles is 'acceptable'.
Your car should not burn any oil... period! How does something like this get overlooked for a recall. Long story short- They KNOW there is a defect and they do not want to be accountable for it.
