I was selling my home in Texas, which was financed through Ameriquest. I tried on numerous occasions to get the payoff balance. They told me it took 2 weeks to get the payoff. I lost numerous potential buyers because I needed to get enough out of the sale of my home to pay all costs. Without a payoff amount, my Real Estate agent and I had no where to start.
I finally sold my house on October 11, but Ameriquest did not register the sale until October 31, 2005. They also went ahead and filed foreclosure papers with the court! That took me weeks to straighten out.
Ameriquest was suppose to send me the equity check within 30 days of the closing date, but I didn't get the check until mid December.
My realtor works for Keller Williams, and he told me time and time again that Ameriquest was not working with me the way they should. He and I had to get Keller Williams' attorneys to intervene to get the sale closed with Ameriquest. The title company we used also had to get their attorneys involved.
The best advice I could give anyone is to think twice before using Ameriquest. The funny part is that I knew Ameriquest had a bad reputation, so I did not even consider them to finance my mortgage, but they bought my mortgage BEFORE I closed.
