The first week of January 2006, My husband contacted our bank that we do our checking and savings account, in order to try and refinance our second vehicle. I have been unemployed since April 2005, and I am a part-time student looking for employment, so we are struggling to pay the high payments on the vehicle. They approved the refinancing and we tried to get the final pay-off from the other bank, which is Bank-One Chase. We contacted them numerous times via the phone and in person. Each time they said they would fax the pay-off amount to our bank that day or the next day. It never happened. We contacted Bank-One and asked them why they hadn't faxed the amount to the other bank. They answered that they didn't know anything about the request. This happened at least 3 times. After ten days of waiting, the bank that was willing to refinance the vehicle just said to bring in the latest pay-off amount we had and we will work from there. Bank One is unwilling to let people get their loans refinanced by another bank, but yet they are unwilling to refinance them themselves. We believe that we are being wronged by this bank by them refusing to let us refinance and get lower payments.
