In Dcember 2001, I requested Sprint to install phone service at my Ex husbands residence, for my children to speak to me whenever they wanted to , due to I was living in Great Britian. On January 24, 2005, Sprint received a phone call from my ex husband requesting the service be turned off so he could establish service in his name. Sprint requested that he show ownership of the home, as he did. So Sprint turned off the service without notifying me in writing or phone call before this took place. My sole name was on the account and I was the only authorized person to discuss the account. I only paid est 27.00 per month for the service because there was a block so no long distances calls to be made. This phone line was the only access I had to my children. When Sprint failed to protect their customer they disconnected the phone service without notice to me. When I could not reach my children on the number I called Sprint on Jan 24, 2005 and they advised me of what happened. i was furious. From January 2005 til July 2005, i had to purchase a cell phone from Cingular for my chidlren so I could speak to them, I had to call police dept.s to do welfare checks, and call schools because I could not speak to my kids because of this. I suffered alot of mental stress. All Sprint would say is we are sorry. Charges from cell phones ran me est 700.00 for 6 months, when i was only paying 27.00 per month for theri Phone service.Not including the calls I was charged from my home in Great Britian trying to sort this out. I feel Sprint should have informed me and advised my ex husband if he wanted a line for himself, he could add another line. Sprint knew fro 2001 this service was for my children. I was denied access to my kids due to Sprint's failure to protect and contact their customer. In July 2005, i called Sprint and requested that the phone service be reconnected at the same address and they did so with no questions asked. But charged me again for installation. I have called them many times over this issue and I am at my wits end. i feel Sprint is responsible for all my costs and mental stress that I have suffered. The only thing Sprint has done for me since then is refund me the 28.00 for installation in July 2005. I dont feel this is a apology its an insult. Sprint only keeps saying that a person who owns the property has the right has the right to do what call any company and request anything they please.
I believe Sprint followed his request before they followed their promise to their customer, whom is me. i was the customer who paid the bill each month, I was the customer who was only allowed to discuss any service. But somehow he got that authority from Sprint. I was a customer that was deleted from their system at the time. without cause.
