I have had many wage discrepancies against Estee Lauder Co. I work as a beauty guide for their brand Origins for over a year and I am continuously being paid wrong. At first I had gone four weeks in a row with not being paid. After speaking with Origins payroll (Kristy Altery), her supervisor, the human resource manager, and having both of my store managers speaking to Origins payroll, that issue has been resolved. However, not being paid for 4 straight weeks I was unable to pay my monthly bills and my rent! Nor did Origins payroll (Kristy) allow me petty cash.
Now I am being paid the wrong hourly wage, as of February, 2006. I have just realized this a couple of days ago and have not send anything expect to my assistant manager as I am unsure of the actions I want to take against Estee Lauder CO. I am being paid 9.00 instead of 9.50 that my manager and I had signed on. My manger DID contact Origins payroll, Kristy Altery and told her of my wage increase. Because I was transferring stores (from Il down to FL-the Origins store I had originally worked in before being transferred up to their Chicago store. By my request) Kristy Altery in Origins payroll had to do a transfer request on me including changing my address, state taxes, and pay rate increase. All was changed except my wage increase and this was all done mentioned at the same time.
I am well aware she was told of the wage increase as I was present when my manger phoned her and told her. As well as him telling her my address update, etc which she seemed to be cable of doing and confirmed back to my manger. This is the same lady whose supervisor I had contacted twice after Kristy never sent my paychecks.
I would like to receive my correct back pay that I am initialed to. But I would also like to receive money I feel is owed to me after 4 weeks of not getting paid and therefore causing me to have late fee’s with my rent and monthly bills, and now have several credit card delinquencies on my credit report all due to there mishap NOT mine!. I have learned that a co-worker of mine from the same store received petty cash when he did not receive only 2 weeks of pay. And that was just a few months after my ordeal. If I was given petty cash I would have been able to pay my bills and not have an evocation notice on my door because my employer did not send my checks!!!!
Origins payroll and therefore, Kristy Alter started this whole mess when my manger faxed her my hiring papers, direct payroll information with a void check that she mistyped and my week’s pay went into another person’s account. After I had contacted her supervisor (which at the time I was not aware that me, a beauty guide was not allowed to do) she mailed out that check and them I never received three payroll checks and 1 bonus check after that incident. And that’s when I had to have both store mangers calls, me calling Kristy Altery’s manager again, and calling Kristy herself numerous times, that I got my checks owed to me. It was at this time she said she the company does not offer petty cash for this, which I found out was a lie.
I honestly shouldn’t work there anymore since I don’t believe this ladies intent is to ever pay me fairly.
