when i got fed up with the cable rates climbing every other month or so i decided to get sattalite instead. when i turned my cable box in to comcast i also paid my bill in full. and had the clerk mark that i had a zero balance. well long story short they kept getting billed and when i called them they said that i owed them money still. so i quit talking to them. they sent it to collection and same thing they wanted money. when i had enough from comcast i sent them a copy of the reciept that was clearly marked paid in full. no more notices and i would not recommend anyone that i know to comcast cable.
