I have been charged every month for a Credit Protector Fee for over a year and in October 2005 I originally called Citibank to notify them that I no longer wanted the service. After getting the run around I was told to contact the 800 number on my bill in order to cancel the service. I called to cancel the service and when I dialed the 800 number listed next to the credit protector fee, guess what, it was a number to Citibank. They then transferred me to that particular dept who assured me that I would be reimbursed for the October fee and the service would be cancelled, but before that happened the salesperson was pressuring me to continue with the service and stated that they would make payments on my bill if I activated the service, however I had to inquire about activating the service.I was then told I had to have any life events such as marriage, college, etc. I told them I had a life event, marriage, but I just wanted to cancel the service and be reimbursed for that month. They assured me that I would be credited for any fees paid from October on. I checked my next bill and no reimbursement. I waited for the next month and again no reimbursement. When I called the 800 number again, by this time it was late December I was told that I would not get reimbursed because I had waited until Dec to notify them. First of all, I think Citibank should have helped me since the 800 number directs you back to Citibank. I am sure there are many others who have been taken advantage of by this service. They use pressure sales techniques and Citibank claims it is a separate company, however, the 800 number that is used is Citibanks number. If needed I can supply the number along with the statements. I feel that Citibank is directly associated with this service and should ultimately be responsible.
