US Financial Management is a debt negotiation company that promises to settle your total amount of debt for less than you actually owe. I jouned this program in April of 2005 and did not receive what was promised. Upon joining this company I was advised that they could settle my total debt of 30,000 for 12,650...that sounded GREAT. In order to become active in their 'Debt Mastery Program' is had to first pay the initial downpayment of 1740 and then pay monthly payment of 504 for 33 installments and that I would then be DEBT FREE. USFM advised me that they could split the initial downpayment into 3 monthly payments of 580 for me and once that was done I would be in the program. But they do not remind you that their policy states that you only have 30 days to request a refund of your money. By the time you are considered active it has already been 90 days so you have no time to see any benefits from this program...which there aren't any. You are to stop paying your creditors while on this program and once you have enough money saved contact USFM and advise which accounts you would like them to try to settle for you. Several months later I had the 12,650 they advised me it would take to settle all of my debts, but wouldn't you know...they couldn't settle these debts because they were in arbitration and had been turned over...well duh!! They advised me to not make my payments so I didn't well they got turned over and judgments were filed against me on behalf of the creditors, so therefore I had to pay what was due. But USFM doesn't advise you that this will happen. The do not contact your creditors to advise them that you are on a program with them or anything. I have filed several claims against US Financial Management with the FTC,BBB,rip off report and netcheck. I just want the total 3135 that I paid them back and this company is not wanting to give it to me. USFM DID NOTHING for me but take my money.....THEY ARE USELESS AND WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY!!!!
