I joined this program in May of 2004, hoping to help eliminate my debt and reduce harassing creditor calls. I paid 200 a month for 12 months plus a set up fee of 299 for RMP (Risk Management Partners) to do absolutely nothing. RMP was to put our money in a trust account and then contact our creditors to settle for less than we actually owed them. They had yet to settle anything as of October of 2005 and we had gotten a legal notice from one of our creditors on this program. We called RMP to cancel out of their program and get our money back (less the set-up and retainer fees), which was 1800. As of today, we are still waiting for our money back. We had to settle with one of the creditors on the program in January, and they said they had not had any contact from RMP since the initial letter saying they were our Power of Attorney on the account. That is not what I had paid RMP to do. I have only went deeper into debt waiting for them to 'help' us (me and my husband).
