I called Direct TV, to cancel my service in October of 2007, I informed the woman that my reason for cancelling is due to the fact that I was moving, I told her repeatedly to cancel, she kept saying she would put the account into suspension..I moved out of my residence in November of 2007. Direct TV reactivated my service in June, ignoring the cancellation request, and has billed me since then..They did not bother to call and confirm, they have just been providing a service to an empty residence. When I called to resolve this, they just said 'you accepted the suspension, so the bill is valid'..When I try to cancel, they offer discounts like mad, when I try to resolve a problem, they do the same thing, try to buy someone off, then finally agree to cancel my service, in November of 2008. I sent an email, and my reply was to contact their legal office in writing. I did file a complaint with the Federal Trade Comission. Direct TV is an unethical enterprise that 'strong arms' it's customers to prevent losing an account, if they can't move you, they just simply place your account into suspension against your will, and reactivate at theirs. I think the S.E.C. should investigate Direct TV's accounting practices. This was not a legitimate address to provide service to, as of the cancellation.
