Michael Rounds v William Henderson Postmaster General

Postmaster General Sued Over Disability Rights
A class action lawsuit has been filed in the District Court of Columbia (Washington DC) against William Henderson (US Postmaster General) or violations of employment and civil rights law. Class members seek, among other things, compensatory damages, damages for emotional distress, mental anguish and humiliation, interest, any promotion and/or increase he would have acquired but for the discrimination, front and back pay, attorney's fees and costs of the litigation.
Specifically, the complaint alleges that the plaintiff is currently employed as a mail carrier and that he has rendered outstanding service and received favorable performance evaluations. He has developed a medical condition called chronic ankle dysfunction, is limited in his ability to walk and that the post office has refused to provide a reasonable accommodation for his condition. He brings this action seeking injunctive relief to redress discrimination and harassment on the basis of disability.
