Residents of Great Falls, South Carolina v Tibbs, J.P. Steven Mill Number Three

S.C. Residents File Lawsuit Against Mill
Residents of Great Falls, South Carolina who were evacuated from their homes when a mill caught fire filed a class-action lawsuit against the owners of the facility. About 1,200 people were evacuated because officials feared the smoke from the fire could be toxic.
An attorney for the residents says the lawsuit represents at least 100 residents who were evacuated. He says the suit claims residents have a variety of health problems because of the fire.
The lawsuit seeks payment for medical bills, lost wages and compensation for stress and anxiety. It was filed against John and Margaret Tibbs, owners of the 75-year-old former J.P. Steven Mill Number Three. The lawsuit also names CBCL, a plastic recycling operation at the site.
The lawsuit seeks to represent homeowners who were evacuated from their homes at the time of the mill fire.
