Plaintiffs v Intel Corp.

Laptop Battery Life Class Action Suit

Case ID: 5428
Category: Consumer Products

Last Update: 07/09/2009
Country:

Girard Gibbs filed a class action lawsuit in the Northern District of California, alleging that Intel Corp. took advantage of consumers willingness to pay more for laptops with longer battery lives, by creating a test called MobileMark2007 to inflate the battery life estimates of laptops with Intel processers.

Consumers report substantially shorter laptop battery lifespans than that measured by the MobileMark 2007, which is often reported by computer manufacturers. Some consumers complain that their laptop battery runs for as little as 50% of the advertised lifespan.

If you believe that your laptop battery has a shorter life span than what was advertised or represented to you, or if you would like to learn more about our investigation, please fill out the form on the right for a free consultation.
