Nurses and Hospital Employees v Catholic Healthcare Partners

Lawyers File Suit Against Catholic Healthcare Partners
Nurses and other hospital employees in the Ohio cities of Cincinnati, Lima, Lorain, Springfield, and Toledo filed a lawsuit against Catholic Healthcare Partners, claiming Ohio's largest hospital system violates federal and state wage-and-hour laws.
The statewide class action lawsuit, which was filed in state court in Lorain County, charges that CHP often requires employees to work during all or part of their half-hour lunch breaks without paying them and routinely underpays them for their overtime hours.
Employees in 10 CHP hospitals, including Mercy Medical Center and Community Hospital, brought the action, which seeks to challenge practices that affect more than 15,000 employees of CHP statewide.
The lawsuit seeks to represent anyone who was employed by the Ohio Hospital System who was not properly compensated for hours in which they worked.
