The parties have reached a $750,000 settlement in an FTC administrative proceeding filed against dietary supplement marketer VisionTel Communications, LLC, on behalf of all persons who purchased Chito-Trim or TurboTone for weight loss, or Impulse Female Herbal Blend/ Maximus Male Herbal Blend for male and female sexual dysfunction. The action alleged that the marketers made deceptive advertising claims about these products in violation of federal consumer protection laws. Persons eligible to take part in the settlement should contact the prosecuting attorneys for more information. The ban on importation of vital prescription drugs from Canada is placing many seniors in dire financial straits only to ensure that corporate profit margins maintain their exorbitant levels. A class action has been filed against the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on behalf of prescription drug purchasers, who allege that the federal prohibition on the importation of prescription drugs from Canada by anyone other than the manufacturer violates their constitutional rights on numerous counts. The actions claim that the defendants violated federal securities laws by issuing a series of material misrepresentations to the market over this time period, thereby artificially inflating the price of the company's securities. Kahn Gauthier Swick is investigating possible legal actions against Eli Lilly and Company, the manufacturer of the prescription drug Zyprexa (olanzapine), on behalf of patients prescribed Zyprexa who have developed diabetes, hyperglycemia (elevated blood sugar), and other blood sugar disorders as a result of the drug. A recent $690 million dollar settlement has been announced for certain Zyprexa claimants.
