Learn if You Have a Claim Against Vinyl Chloride Producers

Vinyl Chloride Exposure Investigation Underway

Vinyl Chloride is a highly toxic substance: by the time it can be smelled, it is at levels 3,000 times higher than EPA safety standards allow-- it is associated with degenerative bone disease and fatal cancer. Plant workers, PVC (polyvinyl chloride) fabricators, railroad and transportation workers, and beauticians who worked prior to 1974 are most likely to have been exposed; exposure may also come through contaminated drinking water or living near an area where PVC is manufactured, loaded, or unloaded. If you or a loved one might have been exposed to this highly toxic chemical, please contact Kahn Gauthier for more information.

Other Drugs / Medical Cases of Interest

Several class actions have been filed against pharmaceutical research company Vicuron Pharmaceuticals, Inc., (Nasdaq:MICU) and certain of its officers and directors by stockholders who purchased the company's common stock between January 6, 2003, and May 24, 2004. The actions claim that the defendants violated federal securities laws by issuing a series of material misrepresentations to the market over this time period, thereby artificially inflating the price of the company's securities.

The parties have reached a $750,000 settlement in an FTC administrative proceeding filed against dietary supplement marketer VisionTel Communications, LLC, on behalf of all persons who purchased Chito-Trim or TurboTone for weight loss, or Impulse Female Herbal Blend/ Maximus Male Herbal Blend for male and female sexual dysfunction. The action alleged that the marketers made deceptive advertising claims about these products in violation of federal consumer protection laws. Persons eligible to take part in the settlement should contact the prosecuting attorneys for more information.

The ban on importation of vital prescription drugs from Canada is placing many seniors in dire financial straits only to ensure that corporate profit margins maintain their exorbitant levels. A class action has been filed against the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on behalf of prescription drug purchasers, who allege that the federal prohibition on the importation of prescription drugs from Canada by anyone other than the manufacturer violates their constitutional rights on numerous counts.

Children are especially susceptible to lead poisoning, which can result in permanent brain damage. A class action has been filed against the Washington, D.C. Water and Sewer Authority (WASA) on behalf of District residents who allege that the Authority has known that their drinking water was contaminated with lead since the summer of 2001, but didn't take any remedial action or notify the public, in violation of federal environmental law.

Several class actions have been filed against medical products and services company Cardinal Health, Inc., (NYSE:CAH) and certain of its officers and directors by stockholders who purchased the company's common stock between October 24, 2000, and June 30, 2004. The actions claim that the defendants violated federal securities laws by issuing a series of material misrepresentations to the market over this time period, thereby artificially inflating the price of the company's securities.

Kahn Gauthier Swick is investigating possible legal actions against Eli Lilly and Company, the manufacturer of the prescription drug Zyprexa (olanzapine), on behalf of patients prescribed Zyprexa who have developed diabetes, hyperglycemia (elevated blood sugar), and other blood sugar disorders as a result of the drug.
