Consumers File Lawsuit Against Tiffany Gates Foods Corporation

On July 22, 2008, the Court approved a settlement for all persons who consumed the Greek style pasta salad, manufactured by Tiffany Gate Foods Corporation between May 1 2002 and May 31, 2002 and who became ill as a consequence of the contamination of this salad with shigella sonnei bacteria; or b) All living parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren, siblings and spouses (within the meaning of s. 61 of the Family Law Act R.S.O. 1990 c. F.3, as amended) of Class Members.

A class action has been filed on behalf of all physical persons in Quebec, and all moral persons in Quebec who had not more than fifty (50) employees between January 1, 2003, and June 7, 2008, who purchased gasoline and/or diesel fuel from the Respondents between January 1, 2003, and June 7, 2008, in the Province of Quebec, and more specifically at gas stations identified in the investigation by the Competition Bureau made public on or about June 12, 2008.

The family of a 21 year old Michigan man, filed a lawsuit in Miami federal court after their son died after returning from a Carribean Carnival Cruise. The lawsuit seeks to recover $20 million on behalf of passengers who became ill on a January 2005 voyage of the Carnival Miracle.
 
A class action has been filed against Internet search engines Altavista, Ask Jeeves, Business.com, CNet Networks, FindWhat.com, Google, Jupitermedia, Kanoodle.com, LookSmart.com, Overture Services, Sex.com, Terra Lycos, and Yahoo!, on behalf of all California residents who used one of the Internet search engines named, or an affiliate’s webpage, to facilitate a visit to an Internet gambling website, and who incurred losses between August 3, 2000, and August 3, 2004. The action alleges that the search engines facilitate illegal gambling in California, and to make hundreds of millions of dollars annually from the practice, which amounts to nothing less than conspiracy to violate California business and professional laws.
 
Holders of certain annuities may be entitled to compensation based upon information and belief that New York Life Insurance and Annuities Company may not have paid the holders of the annuities all amounts due them as agreed under the annuity contracts.
