A class action lawsuit has been filed against the largest poultry producer alleging managers at its Russellville processing plant knowingly hired illegal workers.
The lawsuit was filed in US District Court and claims a Pilgrim’s Pride operations manager and a complex manager hired illegal immigrants at depressed wages for the facility.
The lawsuit was filed on behalf of all hourly paid workers who qualify for legal employment in the United States and who have been employed by Gold Kist Inc. and/or Pilgrim's Pride at each of the companies facilities nationwide.

Managers employed by Dallas Texas based Jaack Management Inc. have filed a class action lawsuit claiming that the company routinely requires its managers to work hours in excess of 40 per week without receiving overtime. The complaint alleges that such "off the clock" uncompensated hours are required by the company in violation of the federal Fair Labor Standards Act. The managers seek an award of the unpaid overtime together with interest, costs and other damages. A statewide collective action has been filed in Florida against Professional Enterprises & Construction Corporation The action is brought on behalf of all current and former hourly employees of Professional Enterprises, who since June 2001, were not paid proper statutory overtime for all hours worked beyond 40 per week. The action is brought under the federal Fair Labor Standards Act and seeks statutory and liquidated damages as well as declaratory and injunctive relief. As a collective action, all potential claimants are required to "opt-in" to the action in order to be considered part of the class. The employees have requested that the court issue notice to all potential class members. A class action lawsuit was filed against the Supercuts hair salon chain and some of its Chicago franchises. The lawsuit was filed by Chicago-Area former workers, who claim the only language they were allowed to speak was English.
A class action has been filed against Elli's Associates for violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and the New York Minimum Wage Act, specifically for the failure to pay overtime to its employees. The class seeks their unpaid regular wages, unpaid overtime compensation, an additional 25 percent as liquidated damages, reasonable attorneys' fees and costs of the action.
