Stockholders Sue for Mismanagement of Federated Family of Funds |

A class action lawsuit has been filed in the Eastern District Court of Pennsylvania against John F. Donahue and others for violations of the Investment Company Act. Class members seek compensatory damages, disgorgement of the fees paid to the investment advisors and punitive damages.
This is a national class action lawsuit on behalf of investors in open-ended mutual funds with equity securities holdings in the Federated Family of Funds against the defendant directors, investment advisors and affiliates of the funds alleging that the defendants breached fiduciary duties and duties of care owed directly to the plaintiff and members of the class by failing to ensure that the funds participated in securities class action settlements for which the funds were eligible.
The class consists of all persons who owned any of the funds at any time from January 10, 2002 through January 10, 2005.

The parties have reached a tentative $2.5 million settlement of a class action filed against respiratory therapy manufacturer Nellcor Puritan Bennett, Inc. (formerly Nasdaq: NELL), subsidiary of Tyco Healthcare/Mallinckrodt, and certain of its officers and directors by stockholders who purchased the company's common stock between September 29, 1995, and April 16, 1996. The actions claim that the defendants violated the California Corporations Code by issuing a series of material misrepresentations to the market over this time period for the purpose of inducing investors to buy the company’s stock. To recover under the settlement, a completed proof of claim postmarked no later than February 18, 2004, must be mailed to the claims administrator. Several class actions have been filed against power utility Canadian Superior Energy , Inc. (AMEX:SNG, TSX:SNG) and certain of its officers and directors by stockholders who purchased the company's common stock between November 17, 2003, and March 11, 2004. The actions claim that the defendants violated federal securities laws by issuing a series of material misrepresentations to the market over this time period, thereby artificially inflating the price of the company's securities. A class action has been filed against Alliance Capital Management Holding L.P. (NYSE: AC) and certain of its subsidiaries, officers and directors by investors who purchased shares in any AllianceBernstein mutual fund between October 2, 1998 and September 29, 2003.
According to the complaint, filed on June 30, 2008, this case concerns an international fraudulent securities scheme based on the illicit purchases of hundreds of millions of dollars of securities in illiquid U.S. penny stocks in the names of multiple Absolute Capital hedge funds. When the truth about these purchases was revealed in September 2007, the value of the hedge funds promptly plunged by up to 40%, or by hundreds of millions of dollars in the aggregate. Several class actions have been filed against hotel company CNL Hospitality Properties, Inc. (unlisted, NYSE:CHO), and certain of its officers and directors by: (1) all persons who were entitled to vote on the proxy statement filed with the SEC by the company dated May 7, 2004; and (2) all persons who purchased or otherwise acquired CNL securities between August 16, 2001, and August 16, 2004. The actions claim that the defendants violated federal securities laws by issuing a series of material misrepresentations to the market over this time period, thereby artificially inflating the price of the company's securities.

("Inphonic" or the “Company”) (NasdaqGM:INPC - News) who purchased shares of the Company between August 2, 2006 and May 3, 2007 (the "Class Period"), have until July 6, 2007 to move for appointment as Lead Plaintiff in a securities class action lawsuit currently pending in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. No class has yet been certified in this action.
