A class action lawsuit has been filed on behalf of employees of the Texas based chiropractic office franchise Accident & Injury Pain Centers, Inc. The suit alleges that the company routinely denied overtime pay to employees who had worked hours in excess of 40 per week. The workers are seeking back overtime pay and other damages. The class has been certified in several consolidated class actions against Internet consulting firm marchFIRST, Inc., (formerly AMEX:MQ) and certain of its officers and directors by stockholders who purchased the company's common stock between March 23, 2000, and November 20, 2000. The actions claim that the defendants violated federal securities laws by issuing a series of material misrepresentations to the market over this time period, thereby artificially inflating the price of the company's securities. A lawsuit was filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia against the Life Office Management Association (LOMA), an international trade association for the life insurance industry, and its Board of Directors, composed of executive officers from member companies, including State Farm, Hartford Life, Northwestern Mutual and Ameritas.
