Specifically, the complaint alleges that Pamela Hightower was indebted to Citizens Financial Services, Inc. for over $1,000, which she claims is untrue. She claims that worthless bundles of commercial paper in the form of copies of charged off debt are sold at auction or from debt purchasing organizations. End users then allege that they are third party debt collectors attempting to collect for the original maker of the loan using threats and coercion.

The parties have reached a tentative $8 million partial settlement in an action filed against AMF Bowling, Inc. (Pink Sheets: AMBWQ.PK) and certain of its officers and directors by stockholders who purchased the company's common stock pursuant to the registration statement for the November 1997 initial public offering before February 26, 1999. The action continues against the remaining institutional defendants. Proof of claim documents must be postmarked on or before October 29, 2004, to be considered valid.
 
An administrative proceeding has been filed against Integrated Capital, Inc., doing business as National Student Financial Aid (NSFA), and its principal, Alan Wilson, on behalf of persons who paid NSFA to assist them in finding college financial aid services. The action alleges that the company violated the terms of an August 2003 settlement barring deceptive practices in connection with the marketing and sale of college financial aid services. Persons eligible to take part in the action may contact the prosecuting attorneys for more information.
