Former Offshore Specialty Fabricators Employee Sues Corporate America for Hiring Unauthorized Workers

Report Fraud
Case ID: 4136 | Miscellaneous | 01/03/2005

A class action lawsuit has been filed in the Eastern District Court of Texas against Offshore Specialty Fabricators, Inc. for violations of the Racketeering Act (RICO), among other things. The Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, commonly referred to as "RICO", addresses the infiltration of legitimate businesses by organized crime.

Class members seek a remedy for defendants' wrongful conduct, which allegedly depress wages and reduce benefits paid or provided by defendants to US citizens or resident aliens.

Specifically, the complaint alleges that various US corporations are bringing unauthorized workers to the US and taking away jobs by the unauthorized and illegal invasion of foreign labor. In addition, the complaint alleges that the defendants do not pay these unauthorized workers as many benefits (or no benefits) than would have to be paid to legal US workers. The lead plaintiff is a former employee of Offshore Specialty Fabricators.
