Sellers of Invisible Tape Sue 3M for Unfair Competition |
 |
A class action lawsuit has been filed in the Eastern District Court of Pennsylvania against the 3M Company for violations of antitrust law regarding the sale of clear tape. Class members seek damages, injunctive relief, attorney's fees and costs.
Specifically, the complaint alleges that through the use of bundled rebates and exclusionary contracts, 3M has induced direct purchasers to eliminate or substantially reduce their tape acquisitions from 3M's competitors. This conduct has suppressed competition in the market and maintained the prices for invisible and transparent tape paid by purchasers above competitive levels, even after rebates.
