The action alleges that the company sued improper margins to cause transcripts to be composed of many more pages than necessary.

A lawsuit against De Beers Diamond company was filed on February 17, 2005 by Illinois attorneys on behalf of Emert and Katie Null of Madison County, Illinois. The plaintiffs claim that De Beers is a century old cartel, dominating the international rough diamond, controlling as much as 80 percent of the world diamond supply. Currently, the suit alleges, De Beers controls 50 percent of the world’s diamond supply, and an even greater percentage of the supply of two-carat and larger rough diamonds.

Ohio University has been sued by two graduates whose Social Security numbers were among more than 173,000 possibly stolen in five instances of data theft from school computers since March 2005.
